EVO’s (Emergency Vehicle Operators) will enhance their knowledge of anger management, space management, visual tracking, high-risk positioning, low speed maneuvering, sensory overload and aggressive driving. This hands-on course is customized for vehicle specific dynamics, company policies and provincial laws (i.e. Ambulance Act).

This theory-based course presents a new perspective on why we drive the way we do. Based on the Myers – Briggs Personality Type Indicator, participants discover how we all drive according to our basic personality type indicator and values.
Participants will then recognize how to create positive changes in their own driving personality as well as learn to anticipate and understand how other drivers may react to various driving situations. This increased awareness helps mitigate and control risks while driving.

The actual case study of the driver’s collision is reviewed with the driver and a determination of preventability vs. non-preventability is identified. With a revisit to the collision site, details of the crash are reviewed. At this point a solution is developed and implemented on how to avoid this type of collision in the future, as well as any other weakness that may be apparent in the participant’s driving ability.

This HANDS-ON course offers experience detailing pre and post checks, hook and un-hook, off tracking, tail swing, blind areas, blind spots and proper mirror adjustments. Drivers will also have the opportunity to partake in on-road group assessments where they can self-assess their own driving. This course can be customized with specific load and unloading procedures, low speed maneuvering and parking skills.
