Driving Instructor Programs Available
The Novice Driver Training Program includes both Practical ‘Hands-On’ instruction in a vehicle from a Basic Driving Instructor and Classroom training on vehicle operation, rules & regulations from a Classroom Driving Instructor.
This program provides Ministry Of Transport Ontario Certification for Driving Instructors.
Basic Driving Instructor
Classroom Driving Instructor
This course provides MTO certification as a Classroom Driving Instructor and qualifies the participant to deliver the classroom portion of the driver training program. Applicants must already be certified as a Basic Driver Instructor. This course is provided on a continuous intake bases. Candidates can start anytime and work at their own pace. This distance-learning component reduces the number of times Candidates must travel to the College.

These courses are designed to provide Driving Instructors with the added qualifications to offer Ministry of Transportation Ontario approved experienced driver training programs.
DDC - DIC
These courses are designed to provide Basic Driving Instructors with the added qualifications to enable their driving school to offer the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s approved courses for:
Defensive Driving Course (DDC) – To improve the drivers’s ability to prevent collisions by trying to anticipate hazardous situations and adjusting driver behaviour to compensate. Drivers with an unacceptable number of collisions take this course.
Driver Improvement Course (DIC) – To improve driver performance by making drivers aware of the many attitudinal factors that affect driving ability and helping them to demonstrate their awareness. Drivers with an unacceptable number of demerit points take this course.
Many Driving Instructors choose to open their own Novice Driver Training School.
These courses are designed to educate certified Driving Instructors on how to establish a MTO Certified Driver Training School.
