Commercial Driver TrainingYour Installation, Service, Training and Support professionals have a very important role in your company and you are concerned for their safety as they work with and for customers. In addition to the technical aspects of the job, these team members must operate a company vehicle to get to a work site to do their job. Often getting safely to the work site is one of the riskiest parts of their work.

With this program, drivers learn that the driving environment is constantly changing and that our ‘driver personality’ has an immense impact on how we interpret information.

This program is based on the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator and will provide the drivers with insight into the risks they face and the tools and understanding that will lead to any necessary change in their driver behaviour to mitigate the risks.

This training provides drivers with the ability to recognize the difference between multi-tasking and multi-thinking, enabling the working driver to reflect on how best to accommodate their many inevitable distractions while working and driving.

The program recognizes the different dynamics of the fleet vehicle and with both engaging classroom theory and practical hands-on training ensures that they are fully prepared for the vehicle risks that they face ‘on the job’.

Collision Avoidance - SKID School

Skid Driver TrainingThis is our most comprehensive program for the professional driver.

Drivers will learn and practice “Collision Avoidance Techniques” under everyday and adverse driving conditions (skid control/winter driving).

This interactive course explores the various personality types, behaviors and their relationship to how we, and other drivers conduct themselves while driving.

Drivers will be asked to overcome “old” habits by making adjustments to their driving philosophy. In doing so, they are able to develop methods to reduce the risk of being involved in a crisis.

When making these adjustments and applying the techniques learned, drivers will think about creating and managing the safest driving environment possible.

TraileringThis highly interactive, hands-on course provides experience detailing pre and post checks, hook and un-hook, off tracking, tail swing, blind areas, blind spots and proper mirror adjustments.

Drivers will also have the opportunity to partake in on-road group assessments where they can self-assess their own driving.

This course can be customized with specific load and unloading procedures, low speed maneuvering and parking skills.

Collision Analysis Review

Collision AnalysisThe case study of the driver’s collision is reviewed with the driver and a determination of preventability vs. non-preventability is identified.

With a revisit to the collision site, details of the crash are reviewed.

A solution is developed to ensure that this type of collision will not re-occur. In addition, any other weakness that may be apparent in the participant’s driving ability is identified and addressed.

This MTO approved course consists of 7 hrs. of theory and in-vehicle training with a focus on defensive driving strategies, hazard identification, rules of the road and risk management.

An MTO recognized certificate is  issued upon successful completion.
